Right?!?!? I have always hated cleanses because I love food so much, but I just tried the Kaeng Raeng Natural Detox Cleanse: 3-Day and did not hate it…that’s a start! In fact, I actually liked it.
I don’t know about you all, but it has been a non-stop rain fest here in Ohio and it’s depressing. Depressing weather makes me want to eat delicious take-out and things that are easier to make. I’ve been eating crap for the last two months…I have a weakness for pizza, indian food, anything asian, and sweets. So pretty much anything that is not good for you. To add, I have a wedding that I’m in at the end of this month so I felt as though it was time for me to try a cleanse. I did some research and found rave reviews about Kaeng Raeng Natural Detox Cleanse (3-Day) and decided I should try it. I think what drew me in is that you don’t just drink juice or smoothies and starve the rest of the day. You can eat as many raw fruits and veggies as you want!
With this cleanse, you drink three smoothies a day for three days. They give you three different flavors; “into the blue” (blueberry, banana); “joyful” (strawberry, raspberry, pineapple); and “daybreak” (mango, peach, pineapple). I would drink the blueberry banana one in the morning as a smoothie, blended with 16oz of almond milk, 1 cup of ice, and fresh blueberries and a banana. I would drink it on the way to work and would be completely full for most of the day. That is a true fete because I am ALWAYS hungry. I always packed a container full of sliced cucumbers, green peppers, radishes, carrots, and tomatoes. I would put a lemon in there to squeeze on the veggies…so good. It’s a trick my dad always does, fresh veggies with salt, pepper, cayenne, and lemon. Each day I would do that and have the mango, peach, pineapple mixed with orange juice and ice for lunch.
The funny thing is that I never ate the veggies during the day…I was too full from the morning smoothie and the lunch juice to even eat it!
I would come home and eat the veggies as a snack after work. For dinner, I would mix the strawberry, raspberry, pineapple packet with water and drink that. Again, I was so full! The last day I was a little more hungry for real food, so I actually made a gazpacho type soup (I think most would call it salsa) with tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, radishes, cilantro, garlic, and lime. I threw those ingredients into a blender and there you have it!
A couple of items to note…these pouches are pretty much freeze dried fruit so you get nice little chunks of fruit in it. Also, I read that some people get some withdrawal symptoms from not having caffeine and the overload of vitamins. I will say, I did have a headache the morning of day 2. I’m not that good at drinking enough water, so once I drank a full glass of water, the headache started to subside. I would not do extensive exercising during those three days either. My energy was a little low the first day and it was the day I decided to do this extra hot yoga class and I was sucking wind.
You want to know the results, right? As I mentioned, my energy was super low the first day…but again, could be me just not keeping up with the daily amount of water. By the second day, I felt like a million bucks. Energy was back up and I already felt better…even though it was still raining..shocker! On the third day a pair of my pants definitely felt a lot more loose. I made the mistake of not weighing myself before and after, but I felt like a skinny minny! The best part…I didn’t feel like binge eating after I finished it!
